This is the first wedding cake I have ever done. I did it for an old friend of mine from high school. It took over 24 hours (over a period of a month) to do. (well, there was also a sheet cake involved in that timing...) The base cake is a raspberry chiffon, with raspberry jam, raspberry cake syrup and white chocolate pastry cream. The middle layer is almond chiffon, with almond paste, amaretto, and white chocolate pastry cream. Top layer is basic white chiffon, raspberry cake syrup, and white chocolate pastry cream. All three cakes are frosted with white chocolate meringue buttercream, and white chocolate fondant. The flowers are white roses and dalphiniums with i beleive english ivy draping down. The ribbons are real.
This cake is beautiful! I do have a quick question though. For the ribbon itself, is it a special kind of food-grade ribbon or can it be anything within reason?
